  2. It's blue that these times are gone. This is a very beautiful Mel Tormè album from the fifties. It's an album of ballads as you may know already, or can understand by the title. I rate it five stars, in its genre it is surely a wonderful selection of tunes and Mel gives us a very strong interpretation of them/5(6).

  6. Jan 16,  · It's a Blue World (the title song for the album) was originally written by Wright and Forrest for the movie Music in The Heart for Rita Heyworth.. The song one the Oscar that year for best song of the year. Mel's delivery is poignant, and the other songs on the album fit the melancholy, vulnerable blue /5(6).
  7. AllMusic Review by William Ruhlmann. Despite the album title, his interpretations had none of the darkness of Sinatra. Rather, Tormé invested the songs with warmth and confidence. Recorded and released around the time he turned 30, It's a Blue World marked a turning point in Mel Tormé 's recording career.9/
